Hello!

Buddy JL wants to organize a old sec school gathering and ponders the choice of 'conducive' location to hold one cos assuming some like her are already parents to be able to allow their kids have a place to play while the mums catch-up. I had SLIGHT hesitation cos I DON want to be listening to diaper-logy! Of cos she said there are also some who are still child-free like me! Really, what are the chances.. more parents turning up or singles?

anyway, told her Vivo might be good idea cos there are playground ma but apparently, she's not aware. So, I shot a video on the way back from lunch... Hee..

Quiet moment tonight

My crappy-buddies haven been updating their blogs for a year le! Hw lazy can you get?! Well I think prolly the state of mind has changed or 'lost' the point of what blogging is about.. which all led to the 'absence'. Speaking of which, I've 're-visit' back to my old book Open Secret; a philosophical-buddhist book about...(since its philosophical that made it difficult to define it)... "I"... in my own words, identifying the "I" concept. How do you associate yourself as being "you"? Who are you that you have to 'quantify' or identify yourself as with certain characteristic or style etc; ain't you objectifying yourself and in a way you become an object?

YAWNZ...

Married life has been interesting... after taking the first few months to sort out duties and trying to accommodate or compromise on habits, there are still the occasional 'fights'.. 1:9 of quarrel:loving-ness....when we are really fighting it'd just be friendly sparring. Its been a year! Gosh.. time flies..

The HK entries are kinda boring... so I shall not continue that.. hee

I had to say we dint start the day very well cos the free breakfast provided really sucks big time. I will bet my dollar that you cant find these kinda beggar's food in the lousiest kopitiam or HK cafe. Everything just sucks.. maybe the hard boiled egg is only thing that you find 'normal'.. the coffee sucks too.. so bad that the food cause some after feeling in your throat, Thomas alike. Haiz.. what can you expect from a cheap hotel?

We took the MTR to Tung Chung station to get to Lantau Island. Its the last stop of the Tung Chung Line & it's also after the Sunny Bay station where you transit to Disney Land (No, I dint go Disney land, not interested! :p).

However, we had to take the cable car to cross the sea & the queue was more than 45mins! We can take a bus though but it will take approx 1hr.. hehehe... comparing the cable car journey of 20mins.. of cos cable car la!

BUT, think about this; 45mins waiting time + 20 mins journey > taking 1hr bus - isnt it???

We see the Buddha!!!

The cable car station is at the foot of the Ngong Ping village, once you cross a 'divided part' nearer to the statue (where I stand in this photo), all eateries only serves vegetarian. It's as a form of respect.

Free vegetarian snacks which was inclusive in the entry fee to enter the Buddha.. its nice ok! esp the yam cake! Soya bean curd was also very smooth..

We left Lantau island around evening & headed right to the Citygate mall!

Citygate is famous for big brands & designers good at bargain price, cos I think it only sell off-season goods. Brands like Coach sells at ave 30-40% discount which is not bad and the designs are still quite nice! I didn't buy any cos I really don need extra bags (designer or not) hence I don see the reason to spur. Mom bought a CK silver colour tote for sister thou.. @ half price! Sold in Club21.

Citygate is locate right outside the Tung Chung station, above the bus terminal to go to Lantau Island which is also beside the cable car station lor! All within 100m radius.

Heyo Nicole! I'm in HK! haa... Nicole, I'm beloved colleague of 2 yrs in ML, just that we've never met before... in case if you peo reading still hasn't getit, she works in HK la! ha...

Well, this trip was a result of my gen-peng-ness (greedy in hokkien) of the Tiger Airway promotion over their IPO launch.. & partly for my parents la.. cos mom was asking for a holiday to Hainan island but I couldn't go during the CNY period. So, here I am! Dying for holiday too from the mundane work...:x

Credits again to Honey for planning the whole trip! Kudos!

Here we are on the Xpress train from airport. We sat the wrong direction and had to endure the train 'reversing' the whole 20+ mins journey.... @_@

Reached the hotel at 12:30pm which is still early for check-in so we asked the reception for direction to yam cha! This Federal restaurant is just around corner of the Evergreen Hotel.
We had no real idea what we're ordering cos the Chinese are phrased differently as the mainland Chinese. Its in Cantonese way. Anyway, we roughly recognized a few familiar wordings & ordered it.. Here you see this cracker-like dish is coated with syrup.. err.. TOO sweet, I cant stand it! haahahaa.. I think I might have ordered it.. which I dono either cos Thomas ordered most! Initially he wrote down 2 serving per dish! Qi sin ar !

A splendid way to spend your 1st night of your holiday.. revolving restaurant that overlook HK.
However, I does not think its the best restaurant around despite the posh settings & crowd. If I compare apple to apple, I grade it vs our own Meritus Mandarin @ Orchard. Food variety MM wins; quality MM wins; height R66 wins (L62!); price MM wins; poshness... equal, I guess.
OK, you know where to eat now.

I don think when I ate at MM, they have this kinda mini lobster but I recall seeing email that said this kinda creature lives in sewage?? Hence, their meat are full of bacteria????

I really cannot recall if MM serve this! Crab stick!

To taking a plastic bag fm the store for a small purchase only to throw it mins later? - small unnecessary wastage can hugely affect OUR environment. Rem your effort matters, cos you'll influence your peers to ponder..

I REALLY LOVE MY NAME RACHEL. haha.. watever that sounds like but I think if you don love your name you probably don feel good about yourself too..

Let me tell you how I got this name for myself. It started off after I was hooked on F.R.I.E.N.D.S and of cos w the character Rachel acted by Jennifer Aniston.

Back then, I was watching video of this sitcom til pass midnite during my secondary & literately laughing til I choked on a sweet while watching.. remembering everyone was asleep, mum & dad would came out to check wat e hell was that hysterical laughers about.. ya.. I still love this sitcom and hasn't had another that I really enjoyed.. but I had to consider the fact that I did not watch much for the pass 10 years.. wat Prison break & all - I DID NOT watch a single episode.. hahaha.. but don you think peo who glued to the tv catching all these dramas are either in their teens or those Obasan? lolx..

Secondly, I think Rachel is a great name! ha.. you may not believe it but once I went to a 'name-teller' (I dono wat the proper name to call them!) he said my chinese name is not v 'helpful' against my 8-characters but luckily I chose this name Rachel which actually 'helped' me alot. I duno la.. but he showed me some materials that describes the elements & 'pros/cons' of the names etc etc.. so jus listen lor..

Today is the 'n'-th group of frds who came for house warming le! My Sec school mates.. Wendy, Jenny & Bee.. hee.. small but noisy grp esp w. Wendy & Bee around.. wah liao their voices so loud & like can nv get tired or sore-throat from talking non-stop de! how?! HAA..

Also to update on my Wish list! ha! I've almost fulfil most of them!!! I've to praise Bee for being so smart that while I dint update what I had so far, she managed to get that 1 piece that I'm lacking to 'complete' my kitchen wares.. Food blender!

Here's what -

1. Safe deposit box (we just bought it!)

2. Toaster (Coll Jer bought it!)

3. Juice blender (Colls Ros, Cyn, James & Shimin bought it!)

WE'RE 44TH YRS!

Hey I got OUR Birthday rite this time! Cos last yr I unforgiveablely mistaken we're celebrating our 35th or smthg nation's birthday - OOps! haa.. pai say..

While on our way to our flat, Honey & I was talking about how time flies.. where it seems just not long ago that we're celebrating it will some new frds.. goin to St James Balek Kampong nite & some of us winning the actual NDP parade tickets etc.. hmm. This year, I totally missed the NDP. Have been busy packing since Fri nite til 2am to move most of my 28yrs into a brand 'new' life! From packing to unpacking, excitedly trying out my new Miele vacuum cleaner, none stop wiping away e dust in all corners, putting things in order etc, etc.. all done thru sat & sun til late. Come Mon, it mostly left with Honey's cupboards, table, sofa-bed, huge bagsss of junks - I symbolically did some wiping & sit there wait for Honey to connect the new 42" TV ! Hee!!

Back to work again tmr & had taken half day leave to go back home cos ALL our furnitures are coming in - sofa, coffee table, dinning table/chairs & our Sealy bed!! woohoo!!! I'll be a Punggolian soon!

Now, that is really smthg worth asking "How's life after marriage?!".. ha.. U & I will know pretty soon..

Bad month for Hay Cars

Honey car got into mess again! Its the Kelissa again & its her 2nd time this year... Further, just so happened that barely 2 weeks ago, the Vios (driven by his Dad) was crashed at the left rear by an anonymous vehicle! Kaoz.. what a bad month for his family's cars.. while I don have picture of this Vios, I got Honey to send me for the Kelissa.

*If u dono, Kelissa belongs to his dad's & Vios belongs to Thomas. Vios is a off-peak car (OPC) so its driven by his dad cos dad work nite shift. OK, maybe you're wondering why didnt his dad buy this Kelissa as an OPC right?? In fact, his dad did & then Thomas went on to buy another OPC (Vios). So, come why two opc for one family leh? cos Thomas copy-cat lor (hahahaha).. later on, his dad convert e kelissa into an normal plate cos it cheaper to convert kelissa into normal plate than converting Vios. There you have it - Thomas drive the kelissa during the day!

How the kelissa got into the mess this time? Well, it not Thomas fault again la (like the last incident) but his frd.. cannot explain how his frd clashed it but everyone's opinion was he wasnt careful. Ran right into a pole during a (must be quite fast) right turning..

Spent $300++ on it.. paid by the 'clasher' of cos. HEE

This must have been one of e sunday after many weeks that I'm slacking at home. With coming of my first 'baby', there's SO much to do! So much that I'm kinda lost what have I been busy with.. hee.. from discussing the designs, carpentry, meeting with shifu Lin, looking for TV, furnitures, to finally buying them! Gosh such matters ALWAYS exceed your expectations & budgets! In terms of the latter, its less of exceeding the estimated cost but more of under-calculating that you need more!!! Just take for example, we've managed the reno cost but little did we know that just running/installing the electrical points etc would cost a whopping $3K?! wtf! Not only that, we had the idea to install another aircon unit in the dinning hall area but the implications of that led to suggest us that it would be better to re-install the aircons in the entire house = min $4K! No way am I gonna agree to it & was so adamant to Honey this time that he relented so that we could make better use of these unneccessary costs else where. Talk about marriage, home & financial planning!

One of the most 'cost-saving' of all are our TVs! Yes, it not TV but TVs! We're gonna have TWO TVs in our house & I'm telling u it's not in the rooms..but each in our living & dining! ho ho ho! Guess we're gonna be couch potatoes liaoz... but Hey, we're not saving anything here with 2 TVs?! Rather adding to our cost isn't it? Wait, U're not gonna believe it that we'd got our 32" for approx $3oo+ & our 42" for FREE! FREE FREE FREE!!!!! Its one of the lastest LG's which cost at market $3K! wahahahaha... Thanks to Singtel MioHome plan! Honey got an 'upgrade' of his plan from MioTV to MioHome and the costs diff is not even $0 bucks?!

Lightings are SO expensive!! 我的天啊！Cove light bulbs, white & warm spot lights, kitchen & rooms lights, bathrooms & a more grand hall lamp - $2K! -_-" .. not finished. Then got fridge, washer, hob & hood, oven.. sink.. toilet bowl (did u know it cost min $200 to sit on?!), taps.. wat have not.. Make a guess how much these sets me in?! Thomas said he wil pay for all reno cost & I to foots these bills.... lucky enough? :s There're still curtains & wallpapers.. acessories.. Oh well.. Baby is in midst of reno. Titles are set, fixtures are up, first coat of colours painted.. arr.. happy each time I see our baby. Imagining it.. Mmmm..

updates: Scolded hell out of the curtain maker Peter from Eastpoint mall for making us waited an hour for him WITHOUT any notice! Honey was real pissed-off. We ran some errands & rush in time for our 2pm appt but til 20min past there was no sight of him. FYI, all the time that I'd made this appt, he didnt reply to confirm my sms twice so I had to call him to confirm out appt 3hrs before & worst of all, no calls from him that he'll be late. When I called him @ 2.17pm he was 'on the way'.. "where are you exactly now".. 'er.. tamp..'.. wtf.. does that means he left whereever he was @ 2pm? Shop is in Simei, we're at Punggol & 20mins past appt time & he's jus at Tamp?! ... For it was me who got referred to him by a coll & his initial quote was much cheaper so I pleaded a few times with Thomas to wait for this Peter .. when he finally arrived.. whoa.. he got a bad lashing from nonetheless - my Honey da ren.

Verdict: I've decided not to take him. First is he might up the price cos the actual measurements was slightly more than the initial sizes I gave which means the cost will be higher too so it wont be competitive anymore. 2ndly, if I would to engaged him, that means it would be a one-sided followup considering his 'way-of biz'. 3rdly, I like things in harmony.. Honey already condemned him so... U know wat I mean.

Well again.. let's hope everyone be nice.. don chop too much off ppl's profit & don let ppl take u for a fool.

Have you been waiting for my post? Or thinking that wat's on FB were probably 'all' there were for my ROM?! HA! Nope! I will save the best juicy parts for you & you who follow my blog la... how can I neglect my FANS?! Afterall, FB network are too wide to even include ppl U're not in close contact with, hence probably wont share MY joy. agree?? Heeee..

1st off - My anticipation

There really wasnt much to do 'last minute' except to buy my hand bouquet. No need to take a off-day to 'finish-off' any matter at all. It not the BIG Actual Day afterall. Just nice, romantic & closey afternoon with my loves.. I had no 'butterflies' anywhere.. not even until the moment when we walked to the Terrace for our Entrance.. I had jus A LITTLE jitters.. just a little.. like "OH... so this is it? IS IT REAL?!??"....

ok ok.. there was some nervousness when I was still touching up on my hair @ 2pm & seems half my guests were in my suite !! Gosh ! WHO's outside?! Will other guests feel neglected that they're on time but not warmly welcomed by the hosts?? The same instance I shouted "Where is Thomas?! Is he outside already to greet them??!?!" Liren - my stylist - had to calm me down "relax, relax.. its ok.." -- twice! ha!

Studio called to confirm of our appt & the photographer in-charge. We have paid the the basic package for their in-house photographer @ $380.. So happened that the owner Jaki Ke was free for the weekend & volunteered to take ROM assignment & the kind assistant Jan Phua give us to him! Jaki's fee is min $680 & above!

Background - Jaki Ke is the founder of O Studio. Born in Taiwan, Jaki migrated to Singapore 10 years ago. He has more than 20 years of experience in the Photography and Filming Industry. Over the years, Jaki has done extensive assignments including famous faces, bridal and commercial photography.
Celebrity - Have done extensive assignments for famous faces such as Cindy Crawford, Tom Cruise, Karen Mok, Jacky Cheung, Aaron Kwok and Media Corp Artistes. - O Studio

Bridal Room
Initally when we negotiated, GWP would not promise a bridal room for us but upon sign up we made them give us one & they did. Glad. Cos it will be more convenient for me to dress up, makeup etc etc.. When I checked in, this manager (must be the Service Manager rather than the Catering Manager whom we liaised with) gave me the Pool Side Suite! Well, I dint know what difference it would make but on hearing its a SUITE must be not bad! She kindly explained cos the make-up room 'somewhere' along the washroom area don have nice room number so she changed it to another one for us & the pool side suite happened to be available!!

The Pool Side Suite has a small living room with a 2 seater couch with coffee & dining table, in front of the TV cabinet. The side doors do opens out to the swimming pool & The Terrace! Not forgetting it has a KING size bed! However, we dint get to sleep for the nite.. cos its jus a day-use room for that couple of hours.

Woo hoo!!!

3rd - Hiccups(small ones)

In brief; Went to the Bugis florist.. had hardtime choosing types of flowers & arrangement.. decided & realised it cost $88 for 6 stalks roses + some simple pieces + man-fee.. shocked.. reduced to mere 6 stalks of roses but each cost $4.. sorry & goodbye.. went to Cold Storage.. found ready made bouquet @ $18 !!!! Grab & pay!
Conclusion: Florist is a total ripped-off!

MC of the Day
Had the vows in Mandarin so that both our fathers will understand. Hence, any speech will have to be in both Mandarin & English.. This handsome best-frd here read the wrong name.. Our gd pal is named Xiang Ann & my Honey is call Zhi Xiang.. & he annouced 'Pls welcome Xie Xiang Ann & Han Li Fen..".. Honey's name WAS TOTALLY WRONG even to the surname! Honey surname is XIA not Xie !!!
*shake-head* I dint realised this actually until everyone asked me.. o.O

Wah! Finally I coming to the last few days of my Taipei trip. Realised that blogging daily events can be SO tedious lor! Hence, I'll post only dos 'better', interesting pics la..

Day 7 - Hua Lian 花莲

Having the first time experience taking their TRA when going to Rui Fang-Jiu Fen, we now know what to look out for & be careful we're on the rite track & direction.

11-12pm: Reach Hua Lian.
Have booked our hotel & is expecting someone to pick us up. Funny thing was, cos it was the bridal studio who help us to book this hotel stay & they register Thomas name in chinese directly as "Tang mu si"... So, the driver waiting at the train entrance was looking for a Causasian! U get the joke? Hence, we had to identify ourselves instead.

3pm - Half day tour

Here's Honey! We are making our own tea-tree fragrance soap! He had already finished it a week after we came back & the fragance was really nice..

Hua Lian is famous for their moutains & is proud to be 1 of the top largest producer & exporter of marbles, granites

The mountains have been for many years and are still quite active with regular rocks falls & they are huge ones! Here's testiment to the kinda damage & dangers

Taipei - Day 5 & 6

Hello there.. paisay if I've kept you waiting! hehe.. v happy that U're keeping urself posted.. hopefully U'll try to do so even when u're NOT on leave.. cos U do have a 'LIFE' besides work rite?! hahahaha

Following up from our hectic photo shot on sunday (i.e. Day 4), we already planned for today to head for the hot spring resort!!! We MUST pamper ourslvs after a tiring day rite?! Thinking of spa/jacuzzi, I miss the days where Tampines 'old' sports complex have a indoor streambath + jacuzzi room where you only pay $5 ! N there's even hot shower lor! no more now!!! SO sad!

OK , so we took the mrt to Beitou (北头) which is akin to getting fm Bugis to Boon Lay. I must say I was alittle tired maybe fm ytd's shoot but still I very 'enthu' for the spring bath!

Beitou is like a resort area for everyone even the locals cos you can see signboards all over the streets, buildings, directions heading towards the resorts & even designated free bus ferry pickup point by each Spa.

We got to Spa Spring resort (水都) recommended by the bridal shop sales but too bad the private rooms were full for the moment & we dint want to spend an entire day / overnite on another package so we opt for the public pool which at that time has only 2 guests so Y not? N u know Y only 2? Bcos its getting damn hot & sunny, which locals on a working day will wana come for hot spring la?! hahahah... I can tell u the 2 guests were not local cos they were too friendly la.. smiling to thomas & volunteering to take photos for us. We could tell the accent.. Hongkies..

Hello I'm here!!
There's a cold pool, so do make alternate switch between the hot & cold pool to stimulate your blood circulation.
This hot pool that I'm in is really v hot.. I'm a person who LOVES hot shower/bath/water/soak but for this, I cant stay even with body half submerged for more than 2 mins under the hot weather. U might start to feel groggy.. Be warned

Oh this funny little thing here is a smart invention.. its suppose to flashes when ur order is ready to collect.. so smart that it dint 'work' cos the restaurant is so slow in serving the food that Thomas walked up to the counter umpteen times that we dint need them to alert us for collection!

Look wat the bridal ppl bought us?! Meat buns! By rite, I should always be glad but we just had our lunch so we're kinda full.. nevertheless, I shan't reject their kind offer.. REALLY la! They bought it specially for us to taste the unqiue meat bun thats cooked by 'sticking' it to the walls of the stove. Meat inside is nothing fantastic thou & the skin is like those dim sum baked meat bun lor.. those browny types.
We're jus having fun whilst making the toughest decision 'ever'! ha..
We reached @ 4pm but guess wat time we got the job done? - 11pm!

We begin by browsing over our 400+ photos (which had already been sieved out bad ones by Michael) & deleting dos that we din like.. we cut it down to 300+ but we couldn't take too many photos into our album which our package only include 30pcs & any additional photo cost SGD$45 each. Note; in SG it cost SGD$70-85 per pc!

We tried to throw away as many photos as we could & forced ourselves to be very stringent on the quality of the photos to keep. E.g. Facial expression, repeated pose, similar backgrounds etc.. Thoughout the selection there's always at least one assistant to oversee, its to assist us actually & also to make sure we don throw away too many that in the end they couldnt negotiate us to buy the soft copies in CD! For extra soft copies to be touch-up & burn into CD, they will charge SGD25 each & would suggest min 100pcs.. We dint buy into this eventually cos we selected additional 37 pcs + 1 FOC into our album and thought that these are the best to be kept already, there is not need to keep extra 'lose' ones in CD. hee!

ha.. bet u dono la... its actually a combination of Salted egg, Century egg & tea egg. As each mentioned are done thru diff processing, preservating methods so this 3 Taste Egg has to be prepared at different stage which are time consuming & takes up to months, hence, more expensive.

Feeling drowsy while posting this, got watery nose. Niece is down with fever, cough & flu! Could we had possible swine flu?? Not to worry, u wont kana reading this =p ! (ok, chill wind blow across your neck..)

Btw, having stomachache @ e same time now.. I think due to the honey.. happened twice last nite & 10 mins ago, that after I dunk that glass of raddish-carrot-honey+smthg else drink, my stomach start churning... damn. Some recipe for youth by mum.. :S

Day 3 on a Sat & we are going out of Taipei!

We're taking the train there. The small tickets are in chinese & dint exactly indicate on it where is the exact station (瑞芬) we're suppose to be headed. Instead, it state the final station of the TRA line we're taking. Same like if i'm going Bedok, the ticket will state Pasir Ris. So we were quite puzzled & very uncertain if we're at the right line. FYI, their trains are VERY on-time so we dint wana miss it.

BTW, I think this pic is kinda 'artistic'.. hee..

Here we are after approx 45mins of standing.. v bored by it.
Also, I thought this 芳 fang looks the same as my name 芬 fen. Y is it pronouched as 'fang' rather than 'fen' ? Look carefully.. the 2nd part is different - 方 vs 分 ! lol.. & know wat? The 芳 & 芬 derived from the primary character are the same sound!! Y the heck created so many different characters then??

Talk about this meat-stuffed fishball, its so juicy inside that when Thomas big mouth munched into it ALL the oily 'juice' squelched out & onto my arms, forearms, hands, blouse & thighs!!! Yet he gave me tat 'innocent' look?!?

Later on, we changed our minds cos its much cheaper here than in SG or Msia & went back again to buy the teaset. They immediately invite us to sit down & ping-cha.. nice! We tried Oolong & green tea. Tea brew on different time will taste different - Ping cha.

This guy in red (the other 2 siam liaoz) is one of the regular customer & often drop-in just for tea & the boss is perfectly fine with it!

Taipei here I am! Yoz ppl I'm here to blog abit.. jus to keep you enticed.. hehhe..

First of all, I must credit my Honey for putting tremendous efforts in planning ALL the programmes here! heheh.. I'm just too lazy to do any holiday plan at all! Even so when I was in London years ago.. that jus me.. whereas anyway Thomas do enjoy making those researches. By the way, Thomas sucks in topo & well I tend to have better sense of direction (& more than MOST of the girls I know).. so we tends to compliments each other some how.. hee!

I try to keep it short for this post cos I've been trying to blog each day activitives before I forgets them by the time I'm back in SG. On the other hand, I don really have much time here cos its late by the time I'm avail to do any blogging - look at the time; its almost 2am & Thomas who had been bugging me to bed is asleep liaoz! Here goes!

We landed @ Taoyuan Airport & bought a bus ticket from the airport to Taoyuan HSR station.

We're already @ Shilin Street!!!!
We arrived @ Taipei main interchange station 台北车站 (there're HSR, TRA, MRT !!) & took a cab to the budget hotel (Neijiang Hotel, Ximen), checked-in, dumped our bags & took a cab there! Cos we dont wanna waste precious time (then 7pm) which is just the beginning of Taipei night lifes!

People say 'if fate is to be, it's meant to be'.

We left home earlier for our 12.30pm appt @ 11.30am which jus require max 20mins travelling. When we were exiting PIE Eunos, Honey couldnt decide to turn left or right of the splitting junction which he actually wanted to turn right as he mumbled it out but (as usual) he change his mind @ the instance & swirl left (0.O). While we stopped at the give-way lane (dotted line, where you have to look right for on-coming cars) before we drive out to the main junction - BANG ! We (our car) was knocked from the rear by a car.. OK to cut long story short.

We got down & this polite uncle started apologising.
A relief that both parties are civlised people, cos we'd all heard stories of rampant road-bullies rite?!

Immediately, WE started taking picture.. all 3 of us! ha

Now, look at Honey's Kellisa.

This is just less than one quarter of the damages. The left bumper also jagged out. As soon as we drive off, we can hear the bumper-flap rubbing against the back-right wheel causing weird noises. The rear bonnet was also slightly dented, making it difficult to shut, unless you slam hard.

We drove to Honey's regular private workshop to have it access of the damages so that the driver can claim it against his insurance. Looking at the damages done, it was however much more than both of us had expected!

Morale of the story: NEVER COLLIDE into other peo! You can kana hit but just DON knock others!

I am of the opinion to have the MAster view out flat first before we determine which element(s) have to to be supplement or reinstate before we conceptualise the flat design or commence renovation. However, as it would be at least until June that the key may be hand over to us OFFICIALLY, we may have to make do with whatever we can first within this period. We have bought our bed too! hehehe..

Quick update on the latest of our flat search; We've come close to placing a deposit @ the Edgedale Blk 129A.

Sunday 15/02; Joined a 'mass-viewing' scheduled by this 'top' agent from one of the most well know property firm in Singapore.. her name is ELAINE Lxx. This Elaine is the 'seller' agent, i.e I am the buyer. Under her schedule, she arranged each house at 15mins interval. E.g. 2pm Flat A, 2.15pm Flat B, 2.30pm Flat C... etc. this 15mins include getting to the location, goes up, super quick view of the flat, get out & rush to the next unit! How to carefully view the flat on such tight time lines?! I thought only work have time-lines?! WTH...

Anyway, 1 of her apartment caught our attention bcos of the interior & layout. So we shortlisted this unit & have our agent arrange to take a second viewing on Tue nite. We even got ready like cash for deposit for upon confirming of the negotiated price & some necessary 'logistic'.. Were so excited & nervous but lucky I got my Aunty Brenda to tag along & speaking to her normally calms me down..

Got Aunty Brenda along cos I knew Thomas & I as a 1st time buyer would SURELY overlooked some important issue & we ready did. Aunty Brenda hit it right on the nail

(1) that the air in the house is not circulating nor ventilates.. Its not 'sucking/attracting' wind into the house nor can the wind ventilates out else where. It NOT a matter of 'wind changes direction half yearly' & it so happen that this part of the year the living rm faces the direction that wind is not coming! ~ these were wat the agents (5; 3 seller side, 2 from mine) claimed. [don ask me Y so many.. everyone kiasu, generals want 2bring soldiers'to fight e war ma.] Its really cos the living faces the inner estate & the main door is at right angle to the corridor where the winds come from!

(2) The walls have exceptionally too many cracks on the wall. According to Aunty Brenda, it jus shows that the house is too warm, hence wall & plaster expands & cracks. Its really quite stuffy thou. Standing right @ the windows U wont feel a hint of breeze.

As the seller agent Elaine got too pushy & impolite - she pissed Thomas & I off by saying "U're not the only buyer, there's alot of peo willing to queue-up to get @ this price...owner take time off .. blah blah..". Me, immediately turns to Thomas speaking in a clear loud tone "Let's go apologise to the owner NOW cos we really cant make a decision." Turn & walk out of the discussion area.

The owners were really polite, nice speaking parents as I apologetically explained. We walked out giving "french-kisses" (er hem! Friend/Flying kiss!) to the KIDS.. hee.

YOz! Back after some busy celebration of CNY, family trip to Saba & many other get-togethers, weddings.. many! HAPPILY BUSY!

What I'm happy to say is, we've finally settled for our ROM photographers with O Studio. Looks to be in pretty good hands so just keep our fingers crossed! In the 'quest' for THE photographer, chances upon MANY studios & captivatin moments of a-lifetime. What I conclude was, whatever occassion it is for; whether its pre-wedding photos, ROM event, AD event.. they all got their own style for it. So don expect ROM photos to look like pre-wedding ones! ha.. Cos they're different la & so is the photographer for them!!

Then comes my dress for Bro's wedding, tonite @ Hilton. Initally bought one from Kai, a very simple 2 tone satin dress - white on top & light blue bottom - but as expected, my 2 aunts shake their heads in unison disapproval.. "too simple, blah blah.." so I need to get a more 'grand' one. Wedding is on Monday & I'm already on Thurs.. damn. No time to go too far like Orchard but only the vincinity of my workplace i.e Marina Sq, Raffles City.. so after some panicky searching 'high & low'.. I finally got to BLUM @ Raffles City. I tried couple of different styles & finally relent to the salesgirl choice of this 'unattractive' full laced tube dress. I LOVE IT ! So Hanbaobao!! hahahah..

AFter lunch today, was shopping ard in Marina Sq and spotted a shop that sells dressy wear for dinner & function. So I grab the chance to popped in. It was Not as classy as BLUM but on the range of ard $100-$300+ per price (from what i saw ok..:p). Oh ya.. I should go BLUM & have a look too.. maybe not suitable for ROM but who-knows?

Learnt from first experience so I smart liao, snapped pic in e fitting room! How are u goin to stop me?!?! huh!!! wahahahah

The dress is OTR - Off The Rack.. no MTM -Made To Measure, so it's very loose.. M size leh..wanted to try some colours unlike the usual white & beige. Targetting pink preferably. Still on lookout.. no hush.

Venue for dinner kept changing, from Tony Roma's to duno where, when Honey finally settled for the same venue where we celebrated my 26th birthday. Only change was he dint book the al-fresco setting but the air-conditioned, more posh & private restaurant, which apparently undergone some reno since then. If you haven been there, space was just about size of 3 living rooms of a 5-room flat. Only a couple of dining tables & we're the second & only dining-guests in the restaurant. Generally, the whole restaurant is built in full length floor to ceiling windows and oversees the HarbourFront vicinity. Well, its all dark @ nite so you cant see much actually!

I had a most embarassing moment (albeit not in public) this sat trying to catch some action of the Olympic Tae-kwon Do. For those peo who's reading this & did not know that I can actually kick some serious butts, I AM A (ex)TAEKWONDO expert! HAHA.. sparring type ok?! don play play..

Anyway, on the most-embarassing moment I had.. I forgot how to switch on my TV... duh.. 2 remote control: 1 for SCV 1 for TV & I was trying to recall..

damn, i think this is for SCV, the Samsung one shld be for tv but Y is the TV on but screen is blank.. damn.. 1 min passed & its stil blank! F***, had I accidentally switched off the SCV modem just now.. Kaoz.. press the SCV remote again try try... How is your trip? Hope its not as chaotic as expected?

Had a chat with Nicole today & was very surprise that she actually 'volunteer' to meet up with me should I visit HK. Felt a warmth feeling of friendliness. I should really try to do that but doubt I have the chance in the near future.

Just thought of writing to you cos you've always seems more of a mentor - caring, concern, inspirating, guiding.. lotsa attributes to look upon to. All these seems natural that I prefer to confine in you as I've always try to potrait such a role to others.. I need such a 'role model' myself..

This year hasnt been rosy & in fact I figured sometime since last year that I know you - my character or life had taken a turn. From a gradual slide to a 180 free-fall. With a finished degree, home monetary expectations suddenly & seems with no mercy - dropped on me. I was trying hard to cope the fact that every evening that I came home from work, I had to face my parents constant demand for cash/allowance. I was taking on whatever & available contract roles that earn 7/hr or 1,500 pay. Perhaps, to many low income owners, this seems a 'reasonable' pay enough to feed a small family unit but to me, I had everything to pay for myself including $xxx of insurance (I do pay premiums for my parents medical & accident coverage), all expenses & finally to pamper myself & to save. Even though @ that time, I had a boyfrd (Thomas) but I felt he was not there for me when I need to seek comfort. Moreover, he doesnt enjoy taking me out with his friends cos that means he have to pay "double". All these without warning nor realising, I think I started getting depressed & pessimistic. I turn cold on my family, shuns them whenever I could & even... got a flirt to comfort my lonely soul. My family can be deem a 'xiao kang zhi jia' - not rich not poor but happy but I never feel I could confine in any of them. They never seems to see things in 'brighter-light'. I just felt I was different. It did not help that my sis, add salt to the water, fueling 'leng yan leng yu' with my parents to extent.... I felt had dampen me - what was jovial me. Harsh fact that money can be the root/source to misery & ironically happiness as well. My mum has feed me, clothe me well. I try to understand.

Thomas(ex bf of 5yrs) has his good points too. I clearly remembers how he used to make me feel that I am worth it & that other people's inconvenience will not be @ the expense of mine. He is (was?) accomodating to my tempermental & sometimes harsh attitudes. Even after some fights, he will admit to be his mistakes even thou it might not be his! And though he is quite a miser by the fact that our inital years were still in the period of 'poor-scholars' & "society starter". I DINT MIND. Even when he rather prefer we go on Dutch & refuse the idea to pay for my shopping - I take it all down. I try to be understanding. We hardly had serious fights; tries to resolve through writing emails when we couldnt voice it... We came through these 5 years, some how, it did changed... its like after the 2nd yr after his own thriving business, I felt he was becoming bossy. Expecting. Demanding. I remembered I said to him: "Stop speaking to me in this authoritative manner, I don need you to tell me what to do. I need a bf, not a father".

The last straw was - Colin. Couple of months of lunching with him & a bunch of talk-cock frds - we clicked & uncontrollably went into a whirlwind romance that had me deciding to end with Thomas. The timing may not be the best cos I made my decision during the trip with Thomas in Dubai, which was planned last year. I did try to reconcile my feelings for Thomas but I don think it worked out, perhaps it was Colin's presence. Perhaps if not for Colin, it wont happened. Perhaps Colin was just a catalyst to what was supposelly a 'fated-reaction'. Reminds me of the song "Perhaps, perhaps.. perhaps..." - I DO had difficulty coming to this decision but let's not go into details. And I thought Colin who also a Virgo is sensible to my feelings & would be akin to a soul-mate or half clone best pal - Jenny. I really thought I had found a good shoulder.....

For the past 2 months at least, Colin has been preparing his 1st CFA paper and inevitably with the loads of work in office - have much lesser time for us together. As compared, our 1st 2 mths was quite honeymoon - meeting every morning at the mrt, walking to nearby cafe for breakfast b4 going to work, going for lunches & meeting after work! Heee...

As his exam draws nearer, he starts getting too stress up. As he current job is totally 'not-what-he wants' and shooting off countless resumes fail to get much attention from job-takers, he cant help thinking if passing the CFA will just be another "impressive-but-useless-piece-of junk" like his 1st class. I wont forget his words... I trying to be a understanding gf here, by not throwing fits of unnecessary temper. We are both virgo - emotional e.g. HEE

I'm just glad we managed to talk our heart out rather than being mum about it. :D

Jiaxin is flying off for studies right aft Valentine's & I will be holiday in Dubai during CNY week.. so it left only 1 mth for us to meet up..

Hello!! I'm backed with lots of things to upload in fact.. but due to some constrain (eg. damn old + slow pc, tired eyes, haven receive photos, busy..) I will do them one by one.. so keep coming back!!

Well, my cousin brother is already 30 la.. too old for a Malay to marry - hehe.. but I think he's in better status to put up a more than average wedding luncheon so i think its all worth it.. (his name is Wen Dian, better known to his frd as Din aka Sharifdin ).
Congrats to him!

Malay wedding is actually separate into 2 days unlike the chinese style. If you're to put it another way.. its like the way chinese do those ceremonies in the day, the Malays do in on the 1st day & the 2nd day is for inviting frds & relative for luncheon. So, the actual wedding is on the 1st day & for close family members + frds only. Very "by invitation" only event.

This is Crystal's Big Day! 20th Oct 2007

Me & Jenny were the 'jie mei' ( i prefer this being called 'ah yi', sounds so old). So, we had to be there early in the morning. Working our time back - since the groom had to arrive at 8am.. we decide to reach @ 7am, so me had to meet Jenny ard 6.30 which means me had to wake up 5.30am !! Considering some traditions demands the groom arrive 5-6am at the bride's house.. i think i have no complains.

So, me & Jenny got there & only then we realised we were the ONLY jie mei ! HOLY SHIT... we don even know the groom, how are we gonna 'negotiate' at the door! shit shit shit.. me & jenny were quite green horn leh + don even know the groom how do we dare to play. Later on, Crystal told us Rosster had to stay 'away' from the groom sight until he enter the house. Well, i dono wats all the traditions about & how/who came up with this.. but since its a joyous occasion jus be pang tang & follow lor ! + that means we no need to be @ the 'negotiating-door'. hehehe

Well, the whole morning was quite quiet till the 'brother-cars' arrived in fanfair! ***ponk ponk ponk ponk........!!!*** - marks the awaited wedding..

Had the Shepherd's Pie - Beef stew topped with cheezy meshed potatoes - not bad but i had to say the stew tasted kinda like canned tuna fish. heee.. JX had the potabello mushroom which i recommended cos the last time i had potabello @ Quality Hotel it was really nice but the grilled ones here tasted really weird. It was moist & taste of beef+herb - really don know how to describe! JO had fish & chips - cant fail with this choice. Pam had the Spicy beef curry.. hee. Its came with a loaf of egg-fried bread throw on top of the curry so Pam (or rather ME) had to take out the loaf of bread for her onto another plate.. hee. of cos i had to 'sample' it.. hahaha.. it jus occur to me as a roti-john .. hahah.. of cos Pam had to stare at me saying 'Roti-john doesnt taste like this'. hee.. of cos.. tats when i realise its actually a cake ! hahaha... somethings like a butter cake pan-fried with egg. hahaha.... but it taste nice. kekeke

As u can see, my Shepherd's pie went over to JX cos i cant bare to make her eat the 'moist-duno-taste-like-wat' potabello mushroom. In the end, she also dint finish it. TMD, waste my food, i finished her's lor !

When u had to wait 2 hrs for a idiot (who never freaking hav a sense of responsibility for meeting time, 4ever late & doesnt know how to use the measure of time - tat is clock has points of measure in sec, min & hr ) & end up with sms like "... we can canx it, im pretty fine with that" ---- "Very well"... rather that having to wait for another 2hrs estimate! Life has been quite eventful recently less the part of finding a perm job. Sian. Else wise, every things seems to be on one end of both sides. Hmm... duno wat i wana say... NEVER good at writing my thoughts.. Anyway, jus write lor.. else 'fans' reading complain i no update hee.

Went for a 7th month dinner @ Yan Ge in Hong Lim bldg with WX last nite. He's such a fun to hang out with. haha. & a real gentleman. He make a point to pull my chair aside when i return to my seat! gosh.. no man ever does tt ( to me at least ).. ha.. & besides letting me take the seat with a better view of the tv, he puts food on my plate b4 i does! I thought normally just take your own unless its ur g/b-f rite.. ha.. so i reciprocate lor.. ha.. turns out he's so impressed he wana make me his Jie Jie... haha (not gf cos he's gf is 3sa ! *Er-hem, Jie jie is v diff from gf lor). I had realised the alluring power of Mahjong - how it manages to make peo stay up through the nite.. i mean 'tong xiao' leh! How not to fall asleep? wah liao. Now i know.

It all started @ Benson house la.. ha. i think he's place is a common hang out for many of his very many frds. hee... and when my virgin mahjong session made me lost $8 bucks when the stake is only 10c/20c i decided to train up! so, arrange another group of mahjong kakis with this time draggin along Honey to learn. who knows we ended up @ a gambler's den & even before mahjong actually began, Honey lost more than $20 on "21".. wah liao.. my only $6 bucks also lost lor.. we really digged our wallets & pockets out lor.. really 'qin jia dang chang'.. holy shit. 1st Interview

Went for my 1st interview in 3 weeks!.. oh... pathetic. really.
Anyway.. i was quite relax.. cos having gone for so many interviews since graduating + jobs experience, i proudly say "I'm quite confident & relax". Except for some jitters on the train when i was trying to rehearse the 'Standard Interviewer Question" (SIQ) haa.. i just come out with this.. haha.. there's the FAQ.. so, why not the SIQ!? haha...

Initially, my interview was scheduled @ 2.30pm. but, the PA called me to postphone it to 3pm. ok, no problem. since i'm going to have lunch with the TLP gals.. i can leave just in time. Reached Jurong East @ 2.20pm.. way long b4 interview.. so i thought. Following the instructions to "go to the back of Popular & look out for a big bus indicating IBP.. etc etc.." I did. but... no sight of it @ all. Of cos, i start called the PA on her direct line from 2.30 - 3pm. I also called up a guy frd who is working in IMM to verify if i'm at the right bus-stop to wait for the shuttle service, your name is LANZ. Lanz, u hang up my call, u better have a good reason for doing so. Even if u had a meeting, u could have give me a return call. U did not. U hiding from me isit???? Rascal. Man, you're never reliable @ the right moment. pls prove me otherwise. I have always myself to depend on.

So, imagine how i bombate her phone. NO PICK UP!... until 3pm, one guy pick-up... its the interviewer lor! Mr Thomas Tea. His surname is really Tea, as on his namecard but he look exactly a chinese, no signs of a mixed parentage. Also, as my Honey is also Mr Thomas whom is a resourceful small businessman, now i call. hee... i sms him what would be the SIQ.. he replied "Maybe he'll ask u out for tea..hee" BH, TMD... i'm serious Honey! :p
Anyway, back to waiting for the shuttle service into the Industrial Business Park. It so happens that there is NO service in the afternoon! Start @ irregular hr like start from 3pm hourly (that explained why i waited almost 1 hr in vain), 4pm den 5pm onwards all the way, every 5mins. That PA hor... go & arrange for interview @ 2.30pm.. wah liao.. when there's no service. How am i to walk all the way from the mrt into the IBP where i never been to to look for a building which i don know how it looks like! Siao!!!!!!

Fortunately... after all these hurdles.. i met Mr TT la... had a smooth interview... all of Honey's SIQ came out. Love u Honey! Muack! Mr TT also asked me 1 qns i've never been ask in an interview... Do you cry easily? I jus replied nonchalantly lor.. ha. Other SIQ are: "How would u react if someone is agressive towards u/shouts @ u" "what is your working style"..etc. So, that about it. i reached he's office @ 3.20pm, left @ 4pm.

Ok.. i'm officially jobless as of today. After 3 yrs of study, part-time, free-lance.. finally i am ready to take on the corporate world. I'm still job searching.. 2 weeks of 'shooting' resumes.. i finally have one interview on Wed.. but its @ Jurong East! & its in the Industrial park... nvm. i'm taking tat as a 'warm-up'. hhahah... evil huh hah. @ the same time i can go the NPP report lost of certificates & go to SP to apply for a new Dip. cert. Its along the way ma... hehehe

Just completed my 1st paper Org. Theory yesterday & if u're to ask how was it? Well.. shouldn't have a problem passing cos i really made my best effort to study it just tat i couldnt complete each qns nicely. Hate it. 3 hrs for 4 essay qns. No single moment for a spare thought or even to consider how to structure the qns. Simply jus sit down read qns & start writing til "time's up".

So, 1st day back from leave & i had lunch with sec frd Ah Bee @ Subway.. hehe.. Honey Oat Cold cut trio w. honey mustard. not my usual combination thou. So, we chat as usual about ex-sch mates.. den hang around MPH & before parting, she reminded me something about tat she have to go to my house but i just couldnt remember WHY she have to go my house? I mean its not usual that she'll just hang @ my place.. so i couldnt think of the reason she gave me the last time... so, i'm told to 'go back & think'. heee.. so i went back thinking as i walk til i go to toilet sit down & i was still thinking DEN IT STRIKED MY MIND! hee... she wanted to look @ our old photos.. hee.. so, i sms her how i recalled it lor.

Wow.. wat an weekend. Tell u, it was mad. Well, I was 'mad'.. first, friday went clubbing with Clubber Wannabe JiaXin & Clubber Queen Vale. Planned to go Thumper cos it is closing.. but it was CLOSED already... ok, not too disappointed so we head down to Devil's just some walk again..(anywhere where Vale can get free entry, she's the clubber queen u know, so she got quite a number of member's card... WAhahah...). Got into Devil's. Oh.. my last time there was @ least 2 yr ago.. that time it was quite hot lor.. many ppl go there, 'flashing' sports cars "voom voom". Now, entry no Q, go in so empty. went up.. not too many ppl.. but stil ok, sat down by the bar had a drink. "ok, lets try the techno section".. wah, slap on my head. SO little ppl there & within 5 mins we decide to jump club again>>> MOMO>>> flag a cab got there... also so miserable! its passed midnite & where's the crowd?? gosh we thought, when was friday a bad day to club? later on the crowd came-in.. ok. not too bad. got back home almost 4am. total damage (including cab fare) per head <$25 !! hahha... so cheap. ok, i'm a cheapo. so wat? :p'

Sat, when by fast: Met up cousin JiaJia who just came back from London after 2yrs. Still a interesting, carefree girl - it seems. Had a little agruement w Honey... which me unknowingly made Honey v v angry/upset/disappointed. I dint realise. really. so, led to a bad Sunday & terrible nite/sleep... leading to Mon.. i was super duper miserable. Me, when upset, DON speak. so, jus leave me alone & i'll alwys walk out of it. I trust myself. Gladly.. me & Honey 'kiss & make-up' ,, hehehehe...

Relationship really takes alot alot of effort, great dose of patience, whole pot of understanding, minus off a few bottles of pride, a gigantic cauldon of care & concern... just to state the minimum requirement. I was updating my overseas aunt abt recent happenings & so i told her something really interesting to her .. not tat we dint have anything happening for quite a while, in fact, one man's selfish decision last yr rippled so much changes, pain & trauma to us.. we are still learning to piece back the broken puzzle.

Orite! Today's topic shld be on vanity vanity & more vanity! Look @ ST's Urban & you'll get e clue.

So, i was telling Aunt that abt 2 weeks ago Ms S. went for lipo-suction on the legs. Oh yes.. that method thats able to 'suck' your fats out from wherever obese areas u have, done surgically ONLY by a doctor. Its was known that Ms S. went for this lipo-suction [LS] without anyone knowledge & shocked her family when she reached home almost not able to limp. She dint wan to admit to the hospital. (How is she going to explain for not coming home the entire nite.. to her kids especially! bad example.) so no, she came home. & the situation got so messy, blood & fluids were oozzing out from her few wounds(holes i call em) so as to enable the doc to insert watever long metal rods into the area to pump/push those fatty tissues.. i also dono. It almost flood the bed.. she was bedridden. legs swollen, bruising.. aiyo.. like so ke lian.. but after awhile I tht she was stupid. Y I said that? Well, the operation coincides w. something major she had to settle & requires her to run around sorting things out & since she was quite bedridden, being only abt to limp the speed of a tortoise how is she going to settle her stuff by the deadline in 3 days time? I tell u, even a chicken ‘walks’ faster than her. Of cos I questioned her why the hell did she has to choose such an inappropriate time & guess wat she tells me? “I dint know it could be so serious. I tht I could get it done w/o anyone knowing.” Wah, I wana knock her head!!That’s y I was complaining to Aunt how silly a woman she is. Dint she even enquire clearly all the details she needs to know, before, during & AFTER such an operation?? Hai…

Den I moved on to telling Aunt that I went for my Lasik last month which she was equally excited about & thought of doing it has been in her head for some time. It all begins with that article from ST March 13, 2005 "What happened at Sentosa gay parties" & in fact i paid not much attention to it & well forgotten what was written. I was outraged & offended by what another guy said who was outraged & offended by what appeared on the acticle. And whatever was written later by this WL really boiled the blood in me like he felt too towards the article.

"family life educator Koh Su Yin said: ‘By having the parties, we are sending the message to young people that such a lifestyle is okay. It also desensitises and normalises a behaviour which would be construed intuitively as unnatural.
‘We would not want young people to be attracted to the gay lifestyle as it undermines the basic family value of committed love, the importance of marriage and the stability of a family that constitutes mother- and father-love.’

Ms Linda Kwek, 32, an advertising executive and mother of two toddlers, said: ‘Homosexuals, like anyone else, have a right to whatever lifestyle they fancy. But if this right becomes a potential threat to family values, then I would rather live in a country that is labelled strait-laced than one plagued by Aids and heartbreaks.
‘We don’t need such parties on our doorstep. Call me selfish, but they can happen elsewhere.’

A mere few statements by 2 ladies sparked him to undermine women & cast as objects of ownership.

Women as who we are were labelled way centuries ago till now. Women are deem inferior, disadvantage, less intelligence, incapable to men. Only because the latter proved stronger in physique? "Scientific studies from unnamed biologists have amply demonstrated that women do not possess faculties of reasoning and intelligence that are solely the domain of men. ~ WL" Ya right! Unnamed biologists. Even if it is proven in some aspect men are superior in one way, women would definately be in another. "It is unseemly and unnatural that women should so openly put forth their opinions on matters which are far beyond their ability to comprehend. ~ WL" Men just cannot accept it when women put forth their opinion. It would feel like nagging, lecture, attack, embarrassing... they would think "shut your ears gentleman! The woman's gonna rant!" Please man, walk out of this.Women in the past (years or centuries ago) does not have the chance to show diligence & intelligence because they were not given a opportunity to. They were deprived of such. Conditioned to believe.

Rules & laws made centuries ago have changed & still are changing. We have proven now & again our ability to outdone men in many aspects, even in sports (go find the evidence yourself). But if you wanna say "go compete with men on the running tracks" then why don men compete with women in the endurance of pain?

Orite orite, this talk may or may not lead to somewhere but what i wanna say is:
If WL is so outrage by what 2 women said on the issue of homosexuality, so are women to what he said of femininity. Apparently it is not about failling to appreciate the kinda sarcasm in WL way of playing on it but the used of women as tool to poking fun over the issue while reacting in defense? Then it's better not said.

Growing up..

My nephew, Georger is now in Primary One, learning very much to deal with school life & classmates. Whom were slightly 'different' from his PAP school mates. Just few days ago i ask him how was school & is he nice to his classmates? He replied 'yes' but followed this: " But they don treat Georger nice leh.." It was that a boy hit him on his head with a bottle on purpose & even scolded him "Stupid". Being a 'Bao Toh Gai' (dialect saying of a person who loves to report matters up..) as we taught him to be instead of taking matters into own hands, he reports to the teacher. Well, that's a small chapter in school. However, he seems not to be making new friends yet, having to play during recess times only with ex-PAP friend(s). He always appeared smiley when asked about school which makes me wonder if its really fine. Sure i wouldn't hope for the opposite but if its any case of keeping matters or feelings up, that's not healthy.
That led to remind me of a similar past. I do NOT have any close or good friend in primary school. I don't know why..
I'm always rushing to be the first to buy before other kids are release from class. So what does it matters? I eat alone, I tried to join others kids for a lunch sometimes even with the Malay girls. I'm not in any 'gang', cant 'join' one, so naturally i felt awkward seeing that they don enjoy an extra company... I'm not a loner. I do play games with the others but thats it... hmm. what else? Perhaps i tried to win @ games or was it i wanted attention to proved myself that i tried so.. Don't remember. My whole of six years! Oh.. so much that i almost lost it again when i went Secondary.. I snipped off my friend's hair in class! I thought it would be funny! I didn't realise i was just too mischievous.... opened the cubical door when my friend was in it!... All these nonsense... Gladly, the same group of friends talked me over it... a year later they said i've changed!! Yahooooo!
To this days, i'm proud we're still together.. 10 years of friendships. Cheers!

LIFE is a misery or you feel not?

I am a Buddhist. I considered someone who never fails to chant the sutra everyday fully devoted , I am not. At best I will try to keep the Buddha's teaching in mind, if failing to do so, i'll reflect on myself.
In Buddhism, life itself is suffering. Which is why Buddha seek Nirvana to free himself from such miseries & hope to pass down such knowledge to free all sentient beings. But being born as a human is already the 'best' incarnation among all (the animals, beast..etc). Kind of ironic to think about it.
I do not have the best agruement why life is a misery or not. I only believe that since i am born to be human (rather than the lowly beasts) i would & should cherised my life. Since i have to live it, i'll lived it happy and do not regret. I have friends who only thinks that life is suffering, life is hard... Yes no doubt it is but why not think otherwise? If you are 'fated' to live these number of years, live without remorse.

"The Buddha's teaching reveals moral justice in an impersonal universal law, the law of Kamma, which reigns over all sentient existence. Kamma means action springing from intention, as bodily deed, speech, and thought. Unwholesome kamma is action rooted in mental states of greed, hatred and delusion; and wholesome kamma, action rooted in mental states of generosity or detachment, goodwill and understanding. The willed actions may fade from memory but they leave subtle imprints on the mind, seeds with the potential to come to fruition. The objective field in which the seeds of kamma ripen is the process of rebirths called samsara.
Life is not an isolated occurence beginning with birth and ending in death. Each single lifespan is part of series of lives having no discoverable beginning in time and continuing on as long as the desire for existence stands intact. Rebirth can take place in various realms. There are not only the familiar realms of human beings and animals, but ranged above we meet heavenly worlds of greater happiness, beauty and power and ranged below infernal worlds of extreme suffering. The cause for rebirth is kamma. Kamma determines the sphere into which rebirth takes place, wholesome actions bringing rebirth in higher forms, unwholesomeactions rebirth in lower forms. After yielding rebirth, kamma continues to operate, governing the endowments and circumstances.
The second level of teaching found in the Dhammapada is to follow this ethical law leading upwards--to inner development, to higher rebirths and to richer experiences of happiness and joy. However, all states of existence in samsara, even the lofty celestial abodes, are lacking in genuine worth: for they are all inherently impermanent, without any lasting substance, and thus, for those who cling to them, potential bases for suffering. The disciple of mature faculties, does not long even for rebirth among the gods. Having understood the intrinsic inadequacy of all conditioned things, his only aspiration is Nibbana, the unconditioned state where there is no more birth, ageing and death, and no more suffering.
The third level of teaching found in the Dhammapada emerges out of this aspiration for final deliverance. The Four Noble Truths provide the framework for this aim. The first truth concerns various forms of suffering, existence itself being impermanent and substanceless, is intrinsically unsatisfactory. The second truth is craving for pleasure and existence which drives us through the round of rebirths, bringing in its trail suffering. The third truth declares that the destruction of craving issues in release from suffering, and the fourth prescribes the means to gain release, the Noble Eightfold Path: right understanding, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right concentration (Chapter 20)."

INTRODUCTION
From ancient times to the present, the Dhammapada has been regarded as the most succinct expression of the Buddha's teaching. In the countries following Theravada Buddhism, it is a guidebook for the everyday life. Even withdrawn contemplatives must possess a copy of the book. Yet the admiration of the Dhammapada has not been confined to followers of Buddhism. Whenever it has become known its aphoristic wisdom and stirring message have won veneration of all.
The son of a king, the Buddha, was born in sixth century B.C. His name was Siddhattha and family name Gotama (Sanskrit: Siddhartha Gautama). Groomed to be heir to the throne, he encountered disturbing facts of suffering and lost all interest in the pleasures and privileges of rulership. One night, in his twenty-ninth year, he left home and became an ascetic, resolved to find the way to deliverance from suffering. For six years he experimented with different religious systems, subjected himself to severe austerities, but found that these practices did not bring him any closer to his goal. Finally, in his thirty-fifth year, sitting in deep meditation beneath the Bodhi tree at Gaya, he attained Supreme Enlightenment and become the Buddha. Thereafter, for forty-five years, he travelled throughout India, proclaiming the truths he had discovered and founding an order of monks and nuns to carry on his message. At the age of eighty, after a long and fruitful life, he passed away peacefully in Kusinara, surrounded by a large number of disciples.
To his followers, the Buddha is neither a god, a divine incarnation, nor a prophet bearing a message of divine revelation, but one who has reached the highest spiritual attainment, Supreme Enlightenment (Bodhi). He is a world teacher who, out of compassion, points out the way to Nibbana, (Sanskrit: Nirvana), final release from suffering. His teaching, known as the Dhamma, offers a body of instructions explaining the true nature of existence and showing the path that leads to liberation. Free from all dogmas and inscrutable claims to authority, the Dhamma is founded upon Buddha's own realization of reality, and leads one who practices it to that excellence.

Dinner @ Bboss today! Ha, what about the food... It comes in big plates but doesnt neccessary means huge servings esp the fish! Hahah... think, if 2 thin ladies can finish it in 10-15mins & complain they're not half full, guys dont even think about it. However, its nice. I had the BBQ pork ribs, not bad not bad. Still juicy & soft. Not burnt. But the gratin potatoes side failed. Y? Bcos it seems that the potatoes were just sliced with the cheese merely thrown over it & baked. The cheese taste abit weird & the whole texture isnt to my liking. The lamb comes in 2 small pieces, with mashed potatoes which makes it more filling. I didnt try this thou. Deserts were tiramisu, cheese cake & brownie. Tiramisu comes in a ice-cream cup. Yes, not a cake. Cheese cake & brownie quite standard. All comes with a scoop of ice-cream! Yummy. Atmosphere is not bad too, air-con dining area is very limited, 80-90% open-air with shelters & fans. @Istana park.

So many Institutions... Which one is best suitable?

My friend Jes was having this complain again of our current school holding these distance-learning course from overseas University. Complain mainly that the school's administration was not efficient or updated kinda things. Was even considering a transfer to other college. Me on the other hand, had switch from a institution in City Hall. This one offers certification from a Australia Uni. while where i studied now had theirs from London.
The main problem i had with the former was that the consultants there have not been advising the new students in details who were unsure of the 'unique' Australia's University systems, therefore not very competent, so were the lecturers. Had heard numerous complains from other students that the lecturers wasnt teaching as what odd to be as on-campus. Resulted in many failures. Also, I loathe that when i applied for a course i wasnt given a clear explaination of which prerequisite i did not fulfil & ended up putting extra semester. Delaying in my enrollment to my perferred course & unnecessary $$$.
Now that my school offers a degree from London @ half the cost of a Australia's University & i get to studied subjects that i'm interested in, whats better?

Question comes. What make a ideal institution?

Killing IS a vicious cycle

1 of the most recent daunting news was of the missing-killed china girl H.N in Singapore. Hearts of locals go out to her. The motives of the suspect was unfounded. Psycho? Rape&Murder? All answers hang in the air. This and those situation in Iraq, Indonesia, Thailand...etc Where terrorist, rioters, militants, gunmen(ain't they all the same?) kills @ pleasure, unreasonable and unlogically... to many. Why must they kill? Why do they have to saw off the victims alive? Could they not put themselves in the victims shoes? So even if their comrads were killed or died in some injustice way they feel, they CANNOT kill innocents!! What about the innocents families?? There will be no end to this vicious cycle.

I cant imagine what i would do or react if my close kins are to suffer a fate similar. I jus might go insane, metally 'inbalance', probia of having a child in future... I dont know! Who does??
